Learning a new language can be exciting but it can also be isolating and embarrassing. This session provides participants an opportunity to experience the classroom setting from the viewpoint of an English Language Learner with a language proficiency rating below a 2.0 WIDA or Novice High in the ACTFL standards. Participants will be part of both a listening activity and a reading activity that emphasize comprehensible input and structured supports for English Language Learners. No multilingual experience is necessary, the session will be completed in English with some nonsense words as needed.
