Davis District R&R Conference 2025
Thursday June 5, 2025 10:00am - 10:50am MDT
For Elementary teachers: Behavior is one of the primary factors contributing to increased teacher workload. In a recent survey, three out of four teachers reported that their most recent lesson was interrupted by behavioral issues. Behavior can be understood as the combination of habits, attitudes, and skills—none of which are innate. A key challenge in observing effective classroom management is that, when integrated into routines and habits, it often becomes almost invisible, making it difficult to analyze. This session will expose the powerful teaching strategies that foster positive behavior for learning. Teachers will increase their knowledge of explicitly teaching behavior. The discussion will focus on practical solutions such as running effective routines, nudging social norms, and building high levels of trust.
